like a coloring book…

our house got painted this weekend.

new house colors

it’s amazing what a difference a coat of paint can make. now it no longer looks dreary. or boring. and more like ours. feels more like home. and i love going through the paint book and lookig at names of colors. the ones we chose were: tangerine mist, skyscraper blue (how very new york), citron green, calming green, and china white (for trim and walls).

here’s a before/after picture of the bathroom:

bathroom, now with color

i never thought tangerine would go so well in a bathroom, but the orange frame is becoming one of my favorite windows. it’s sunny and cheerful when you least expect it, and it’s not so monochrome anymore. and the red frame on the vanity? well, there’s a reason why it’s called a vanity mirror…red goes well with my hair. 🙂

in other news, i joined a photo swap and the deadline was yesterday. i’m enjoying looking at what others’ photographs (the theme was simplicity.). so many beautiful photos. and some very creative ways of presentation. now all i want to do is to make photo books…
