I was waiting for the holiday baking inspiration to arrive and it showed up, just in time before I leave town in two days. I’m not sure how long I’ve been baking biscotti for winter holidays, but it seems forever. I like biscotti because they’re fairly easy to make, don’t contain butter, and go well with either tea or coffee or both (I’m in the ‘both’ and ‘must have at least three beverages for brunch’ category). I make three different kinds– the traditional almond (not a big fan of anise), chocolate dipped almond, and cranberry orange (using orange zest and dried cranberries). They keep very well, so it’s fairly easy keep them for a while until you need to wrap them and give them away.
