November 2: In which today is a good mail day.

November 2, 2011
Oh hai.

Dear Reader,

Today’s prompt: If you knew that whatever you ate next would be your last meal, what would you want it to be?

Oh this is a hard one. It depends on the weather. If it was summer, it’d be a grilled pimento cheese sandwich with a slice of tomato and pickles. With a cucumber salad on the side. If it was winter, it’d be a bowl of hot oxtail soup with fresh radish kimchi. Or maybe a big bowl of saag paneer. Or a calzone stuffed with artichokes, pesto, fresh garlic, sundried tomatoes. Or some fried oysters and a beer. Oh, I should not have tried to answer this question before dinnertime…

Can you tell I like eating a lot of good food?

Today was mostly a good mail day. It made up for a rather stressful bike ride (lots of cars and trucks, and plenty of drivers who were going 65 in a 25 mph zone).

I got my annual dog calendars (more details about that later) a day earlier than expected and they’re awfully cute. I also got some woolens in form of a sweater and a jacket, and wow boy do they make all the difference. Thrown in a rather excellent haircut and you’ve got a self portrait for today. 🙂

Time for me to try to head to bed early.

Til then,
Eunice

oh my gosh why have I never had a grilled pimento cheese sandwich!! I have this friend who puts a hefty pinch of cayenne into her pimento cheese and it is absolutely divine.
